Design services are tailored to each project based on scope, size, and level of involvement. At Nestled Interiors, we provide flexible, hourly design services supported by an initial retainer to begin the project.

Our goal is to create a thoughtful, well-executed design while keeping the process clear, organized, and aligned with your goals.

design fee structure

Design services are billed hourly, with rates typically ranging from $50–$150 per hour, depending on the project and service type.


A retainer is required prior to the start of each project. This retainer is applied toward design services and allows us to reserve time for your project and begin the design process.


Design time includes all work related to your project, including:

  • Design development and planning
  • Material and finish selections
  • Research and sourcing
  • Communication and coordination
  • Preparation of design boards, layouts, and documentation

Every project is unique, and design fees will vary based on:

  • Size and scope of the project
  • Number of spaces involved

  • Coordination with contractors, vendors, and trades

typical design fee ranges

While every project is different, the following ranges can help provide general guidance:

  • Paint Consultations: starting at $50 per hour
  • Furniture & Décor Curation: typically $50-$100 per hour
  • Finish & Material Selections: typically $75-$125 per hour
  • Renovations & Remodel Design: typically $75-$150
  • New Construction Design: typically $75-$150

A detailed proposal outlining scope, estimated hours, and design fees will be provided following the initial consultation.

time tracking + billing

Design services are billed hourly, and time is carefully tracked throughout each phase of your project. This includes all work completed on your behalf, such as design development, research, sourcing, communication, coordination with vendors or contractors, and preparation of drawings or design materials. Because much of this work happens behind the scenes, clients rely on the professional integrity and judgment of the designer to accurately record and manage time.


Invoices are issued at the completion of each design phase, providing a clear and organized breakdown of work as the project progresses. Our goal is to work efficiently while delivering thoughtful, high-quality design tailored to your space.

purchasing & procurement

Furniture, materials, and décor are typically purchased directly by the client using curated selections and links provided. For added convenience, we can assist with ordering, coordinating vendor invoices, and tracking items using client-provided payment methods. This flexible approach keeps the process streamlined, transparent, and aligned with your budget.

Following purchasing, we continue to guide the installation process with furniture placement and styling, ensuring the space comes together cohesively and reflects the intended design.
